Defensive Handgun Mastery Level 1 - Pistol Safe & Ready Skills ©

The Defensive Handgun Mastery© - Level 1 Pistol Safe & Ready Skills course is a compact and intensive basic handgun training program in the USA for beginners, security personnel, and responsible firearm owners.  Participants learn the essential fundamentals for safe, legally compliant, accurate, and controlled handgun handling. The course combines 12 hours of practical training and is ideal as an introduction to further firearms training or as preparation for professional requirements in the security sector.  This course is particularly suitable for individuals with little or no experience, security personnel and responsible firearm owners.

Duration: 12 training hours

The course consists of 8 hours of practical training and 4 hours of self-paced online theory.

Course Curriculum

In this course, participants learn the core fundamentals required for safe and professional handgun handling:

  • Legal fundamentals and safety rules 
  • Safe conduct on the shooting range 
  • Operation and safe handling of handguns 
  • Grip technique, stable shooting stance, sight alignment, and trigger control 
  • Magazine changes 
  • Basic malfunction clearance 
  • Static open-carry holster training 
  • Static shooting drills 
  • Responsible conduct before, during, and after shooting 

The focus is on safety, control, accuracy, and responsible weapon handling.

Course Completion

Upon successful completion of the course, participants will receive the certificate:

“Defensive Handgun Mastery© – Level 1 Pistol Safe & Ready Skills”

The certificate confirms participation in the course and completion of the training content. It may be used as proof of training for the security sector, as a foundation for further handgun and firearms courses, or as supporting documentation
